Supreme Court order on UGC Case is awaited by lakhs of students. The wait, however, would be longer as the decision would not be announced today either. Check latest updates.

There is some bad news for students waiting for final decision on UGC Exam Guidelines and final year university examinations. The Supreme Court of India is not likely to announce the verdict today either. The matter is not listed in the cause list for today, possibly shifting the final decision by another day.

Advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava has confirmed the same in a tweet. Though it is not clear if the verdict would be announced tomorrow or not, the hope for a speedy verdict is awaited.

While many universities have already started and some have even conducted the final year examination, the states of Delhi, Maharashtra and Odisha are waiting for the Supreme Court judgement.

11 students from across the country had approached the Supreme Court for intervention in the matter. Following that, 2 separate petitions – one by Yuva Sena on behalf of Maharashtra State’s decision to cancel exams and another by a law student were also filed. The matter was heard in the court over multiple hearings. Final submissions have been made and the decision is now awaited.
